The Arkansas insurance industry is regulated by the Arkansas Insurance Department, which controls all forms of insurance in the state.

From the statistics, as of the year 2001, a total number of 1.7s millions ordinary life insurance policies were made with a total value of $67.7 billion. The total value for all types of life insurance (ordinary, group, industrial, and credit) was $111.2 billion. The Property and casualty types insurers wrote premiums amounted to $2.86 billion in the year 2001.

The Gross state product that is the insurance carriers and the related activities as of the year 2003 was $1,092 millions. The loss incurred by Arkansas from the homeowners as in 2004, was 196,487,786.
